"Photo voltaic cell"

Introduction:-

A Photovoltaic cell is a substance which converts one form of energy in to another form of energy. That is it converts Light energy into Electric energy.

Procedure:-

As the light trucks on the Photovoltaic cell electron hole pair reaction takes place. As electron gets charged these electrons moves towards holes. And holes moves towards electrons. As the depletion layer between P-N junction decreases electricity increases.

This is how light energy being converted in to electric energy.

Applications:-

1. Remote power systems.
2. Earth-orbiting satellites.
3. Space probes.
4. Calculators, wrist watches, Radio telephones and pumping applications.
